An Australian teenager, Samuel Lethbridge of just 17 years of age, has been found alive after being trapped for 30 hours in his car after it derailed a Highway in New South Wales on Sunday.

After becoming concerned about their son’s whereabouts, his family alerted the police.

Father of Samuel, Tony Lethbridge recalled an incident which happened on the same highway, 5 years ago. “Unfortunately that bloke passed away because nobody found him within five days, and I wasn’t going to let that happen [to Samuel].”

The Intuitive father decided to take matters into his own hands and hire a helicopter as he knew his son was in trouble because his actions were very out of character.

Within just 10 minutes of searching for Samuel via helicopter, he was luckily found straight away in a pile of wreckage about 20m (65ft) off a road in Crangan Bay, 100km (62 miles) north of Sydney.

It took emergency services an hour to rescue Samuel who was trapped beneath his dashboard and is now being treated in hospital with multiple fractures and remains in a serious condition, authorities say.

Police are investigating the crash and say “He is very lucky to be alive.”
